Vanessa Li

What companies/classes are you currently in?

Sr Cats

When did you start at Center Stage?

Second Grade

Do you remember your first dance routine?

I did a Mickey Mouse routine in second grade.

What was your Center Stage journey?

I started out just taking a recreational class when I was in second grade. I loved it so much I auditioned for the company starting at jr cats.

Why has it been worth all of the energy you’ve put into it and the sacrifices you’ve made?

It was worth the energy to get out of bed and do something with my life. To get up socialize and exercise.

Your sister was 2 years ahead of you all through your Center Stage years.  How was that?  Was it an adventure you shared together, or did she cramp your style?

It was very annoying having her loom over me, but I appreciated having her there to share the burden of learning the ropes of dance and all the things that come along with performing.

Do you do other outside of school activities?

Before committing fully to dance I tried many other things like softball, piano, art, basketball, but nothing stuck like dance.

If you were a Superhero, what would you like your superpower to be?

My superpower would be shape shifting, without of pain of shifting of course. With shapeshifting, I could change into a bird and fly in the sky, into a mouse to crawl into small spaces, or become a fly and become invisible.

What’s your favorite animated movie, and why?

My Neighbor Toronto because of the adorable animation and art.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?  What sort of dinner would it be?  Picnic?  Fine restaurant?  Home cooked?

If I had dinner with any historical figure it would be Cleopatra because she was a goddess among peasants. I would take her to the most expensive fine dinning restaurant because she was a Pharoh who was powerful and strong, not kneeling to anyone.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

In a gigantic penthouse at the top of a skyscraper in NYC. Where if I wanted go down and socialize with people and enjoy a busy city or stay in the penthouse high up all alone to enjoy the scenery.

If you won the lottery and were wealthy for the rest of your life and never had to work, what would you do with yourself?

I would give money to my parents and sister so they would also never have to work again, I would get a doctor to make use I stay healthy even while eating pizza and pasta. Then if I really wanted I would get a trainer to stay somewhat healthy so I can live very long. I would solely buy sweatpants and sweatshirts and hang out with my friends all the time and treat them. I would then invest the majority of my money in investments so I would gain passive money so I can become richer.

And with all that wealth, what causes or charities would you like to be able to support?

With all of that wealth, I would gain enough money to support government laws and rights that I believe to be right and good.

What’s next?

The next step in life is to wait and hope I get into the college I want.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

An entrepreneur to an extremely successful product business. Making millions a year doing nothing but using a computer and cellphone chilling at home.

Will you come back to visit Center Stage, or are you gone for good when you’re out the door?

I will definitely come back to see how my younger ones are doing, vist to see the next group of dances and group of Sr Cats.
