Rachel Margulies

What companies/classes are you currently in?

I am currently a Senior Cat. I am in many different dances and take classes with Mickey, Michelle, Lauren, Anne and Tara.

When did you start at Center Stage?

I started dancing at Center Stage when I was 3 years old.

Do you remember your first dance routine?

My first dance routine that I can remember was “Shut up and dance” with Miss Julie.

What was your Center Stage journey?

I started at Center Stage very young. From first taking classes of different styles with different teachers to then being in company, I have been through Jr. Cats, Jr. Tap Cats, Cats and now SR Cats. I also have assisted younger kids during my years at Center Stage.

Why has it been worth all of the energy you’ve put into it and the sacrifices you’ve made?

In the end, this journey was all worth it because I have learned lessons and met people that, without dancing at Center Stage, would have never been possible.

What other outside of school activities do you do?

Besides dance,  I am also on the varsity cheer and lacrosse teams at my high school. I understand what commitment is and how important things that I enjoy really are to me. This has taught me time management and the lesson of trying new things.

If aliens showed up in your backyard, what would be the first thing you’d show them to help them understand Earth?

I would give them human food and see how they would react to how we eat.

What’s your favorite season and why?

My favorite season is summer because my birthday is in the summer. I also love the warm weather and going to the beach, and we don’t have school!

If you were a superhero, what would be your name and your power?

My name would be Clear, and my power would be invisibility.

Are you more a crier or a giggler?

I feel like I am both because sometimes I laugh so hard that I start to cry. I can say I usually laugh more often than cry.

If you could be immortal, what age would you choose to stop aging at and why?

I would choose my mid 20s because I feel like that is right in the middle of adolescence transforming into full adults.

Are you a loner or a crowd person?

I am a crowd person. I love meeting new people and talking with others.

Would you like to be famous?

I would like to be famous because then you are known and usually make a lot of money.

What would you like to be famous for?

I would like to be famous for inventing flying cars. I feel like this idea could expand and become well known around the world.

What’s next?

Next fall, I plan to attend a 4 year college. While I do not know where yet, I am confident that I want to study business, focusing on marketing and advertising.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In 10 years I see myself successful with a job, and getting ready to settle down. In the future, I want to have a family of my own and live in a big house with a dog.

Will you come back to visit Center Stage, or are you gone for good when you’re out the door?

I will definitely come back to visit. The teachers and people here have truly shaped where I am today and I definitely want to watch and see the new dances in the coming years!
