Ballet
Our classical ballet program contains the fundamental building blocks for all of our dancers. This elegant art form is designed to strengthen each dancer's body and mind. Ballet classes stress body placement, flexibility and fluidity, which allows your dancer to reach a level of artistry unmatched by other styles of dance. Using every count to fill the music, ballet students show an outstanding control and carriage of their bodies. This style is recommended for dancers who are seriously motivated to train. Pointe classes are available for more advanced students ages 11 and up upon faculty recommendation.
Your dancer will need these items for class:
Leotard for Child Classes: Motionwear Purple Leotard
Leotard for Teen Classes: Black Leotard of your choice
Tights: Capezio Ballet Pink
Hair: In a secure tight bun fastened with hair pins and hair net
Shoes: Capezio “Daisy” or “Love”

BE PREPARED:
Style numbers have been given to the Dancin’ on the Moon store. Employees will be able to fit your dancer with our required shoes.
PERFORMANCES:
Our Main stage production is designed for older children and teens and is performed at a local Performing Arts Center within a school. Center Stage shows are not dance recitals, they are Broadway in New Jersey! Not only does our end of the year show demonstrate our students’ growth, it also provides each and every one of them the experience of professional theatre. At Center Stage we think that our shows are in a class by themselves; but don’t take our word for it. Chris Scherer, reviewing our show in the Home News, said that our “Dance program at (the) State Theatre is out of this world” and that Center Stage “may have changed the stodgy old dance recital program forever.” Come on down and see for yourself. We guarantee you will catch the Center Stage Fever!
Our bi-annual performance of the Nutcracker features our ballet department’s finest students with New York guest artists. The Performance is every other year. Our Next Performance is December 2024.
