When did you start at Center Stage?
What was your Center Stage journey?
I started as a SR Cougar my first year and then I was a JR CAT by my second year. I finished JR CAT 2s and became a CAT Apprentice for two years and I have been in CATS for four years.
Do you remember your first dance routine?
Yes.. Distortion (Marlowe), Going Postal (Sue) and Rhythm Line (George)
What first got you interested in dance?
Seeing my sister dance.
When did you know that this was more than just an after school activity for you?
When I watched the CATS dance for the first time.
Why has it been worth all of the energy you’ve put in to it and the sacrifices you’ve made?
It’s rewarding to put energy into something that has a positive outcome and something you’re proud of.
What are the joys and sorrows of being a male dancer?
JOYS: You stand out more and are more appreciated.
SORROWS: The assumptions and perceptions made about you based on an activity that you do.
In 50 words or less, what is the secret to being able to spin like a top?
2 words… Pull Up.
If you could Netflix and chill with anyone, living or dead, who would it be? What would you watch?
Marilyn Monroe. We’d watch The Twilight Zone.
What are you irrationally afraid of?
Being convicted of a crime I didn’t commit.
If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
A classic dog.
Continuing my dance education at SUNY Purchase by getting my BFA in dance and a minor in Arts Management.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
The future is completely unpredictable, just hopefully not homeless.
Will you come back to visit Center Stage, or are you gone for good when you’re out the door?
I will always visit when I have the chance!
